Horse bells are riding equipment used to protect the horse's hooves, crown and buttocks. They are placed around the horse's hooves, mainly on the front legs, and closed with Velcro. Here at Unamari you'll find a wide range of bells for every occasion. For the paddock, for everyday riding and for competitions. There are also bells that are suitable for use during transportation.
Here at Unamari we design, produce and sell riding equipment from the brands Equipage, Horse Guard and Catago. That's why you'll find the full range of bells for horses and ponies from Catago and Horse Guard exclusively here on our webshop.
When to use bells?
When a horse is moving in the paddock or while riding, it can accidentally step on its own front legs with its hind legs. This can result in injuries to the hoof and fetlock. If the horse is wearing shoes, the risk of cuts, scratches or injuries is higher if it hits itself. The horse may also step on its front shoes crookedly or completely off. To reduce the risk of this, you can protect the area with bells. Remember we also have horse boots for your horse if you are looking for even more protection for your horse.
Find the right type of horse bell here
There are many different types of horse bells and at Unamari we make a virtue of developing bells to give your horse optimal protection. We offer bells in many variants and below you can get a small overview of the bells we have.
Bells for training
Bells can be used during training. This can be especially useful if the horse has a tendency to step on its own front legs or has a particular way of moving that can increase the risk of injury. Bells are used across disciplines such as jumping, dressage and riding Icelandic horses, as needed.
Bells for competition
If you use bells in daily training, you will often also choose to use them at competitions. In some disciplines, bells are allowed both during warm-up and during the competition itself, in others not. Check the rules for your discipline to make sure you're always in compliance.
Fold bells for horses
When horses are in the paddock and free to move around, things can get rough, both when playing with other horses, but also when the horse is fresh, running and jumping around. If you've ever been around the paddock looking for a lost shoe, or picked up your horse from the paddock with a shoe that has gone askew, you might be interested in our wide range of bells for paddocks.
All our bells are produced in durable materials with strong Velcro closures. However, we know that horses have different needs and riders can have different preferences, so our selection is very wide in terms of materials, colors, features and designs. Browse our selection below or take a look at our range of bell protectors.
Rubber bells
Rubber bells with stretch velcro closure are suitable for use in the paddock, especially in the wet and muddy fall and winter months. The rubber bells are easy on the horse and also very easy to clean. In fact, you can just hose them down or rinse them in a bucket of cold water and they're ready for the next day.
Some riders also prefer rubber bells for riding. Again, this can be useful in wet weather when riding arenas or terrain is soaked and muddy. We also offer rubber bells with fur for extra softness on top against the horse's coat and skin.
Neoprene bells
Neoprene bells are incredibly versatile, both for riding and folding use. Available in black, white, brown and navy in different types.
Faux leather bells
Faux leather bells are both practical and beautiful when you and your horse need to look extra stylish together. They are classic in design and very useful for both training and competition.
White bells
White bells look great, but are obviously not the most practical choice. That's why most people choose white bells for special occasions such as competitions, award ceremonies, shows etc.
Lamb bells
Both Horse Guard and Catago offer lamb bells. Bells with lambs are used for several reasons, including increased comfort and to prevent irritation from rubbing against the horse's delicate skin and fine coat.
Bells with knob
The knob is located inside the bell and helps them stay in place if you do not want them to rotate.
Glitter bells
Cute and festive bells for those who want a little extra sparkle on the design. Available both with glitter on the velcro closure and with glitter on the entire bell.
Horse Guard Bells
We have a wide selection of bells from Horse Guard, at great budget-friendly prices. Horse Guard has a large selection where you're sure to find the perfect bell for your horse.
Catago Bells
In the Catago range you'll find the popular merino wool riding bells in both black and white. You'll also find neoprene bells with a shiny and dirt-repellent surface to match the popular Catago dressage gaiters.
Catago FIR-Tech bells
CATAGO Fir-Tech bells are functional and luxurious with faux lambskin along the edge and a small knob on the inside to help keep the bell in place. The inside of the bell is covered in Fir-Tech material, which contains particles of ceramic clay. The ceramic clay helps increase blood circulation and keep tendons and joints supple.

Icelandic bells
CATAGO Icelandic rubber bells 180g and 230g are special bells for Icelandic horses.
HorseGuard B'seen Reflective Bells
If you need to ride out in the dark, perhaps in traffic, reflective bells can provide extra safety in terms of visibility. These bells are made of practical neoprene.

Bells for ponies
We have of course also thought of bells for ponies. The little ones deserve the best too. We know how difficult it can be to find riding gear small enough for Shetland ponies in particular. We have of course taken this into account and here at Unamari you won't go in vain if you are looking for bells in pony or Shetland size.
Large selection of bells for your horse
We offer an extensive range of bells for horses that are perfect for both training and competition. Our bells are designed to protect your horse's legs from bumps and knocks while providing comfort and freedom of movement. You can find bells in different sizes and materials to suit all types of horses and activities. Whether you need protection for your horse's hind legs or to ensure extra support during intense training, we have the bells to meet your requirements.
