What riding equipment do you need when you start riding?

For many children, interest in horses and riding starts early, and when they start riding, the first equipment needs quickly appear. One of the most important riding gear for kids is to start with a good, safety certified riding helmet. But whether you start riding as a child or an adult, comfort and safety in riding gear is one of the most important things.

A pair of riding gloves is a good investment as they not only keep your hands warm, but also ensure a good grip on the reins so you can better control the horse.

The bit should fit the horse, and it can be very individual what works best. Here at Unamari you'll find a selection of bits for horses in our own brand Horse Guard and the British brand Neue Schule.

We have everything in bits for horses: Snaffle bits, eggbutt bits, D-ring bits, half cheeks bits, 2- and 3-ring bits, pelham bits, cheek bits and balding bits.

You'll also find both bradoon bit and pole bit, which form the bit combination for a double bridle.

Saddle accessories

Saddles are about the only thing you won't find in our comprehensive range of riding equipment. Instead, you'll find all accessories for saddles, including girths, stirrups and stirrup leather.

You can also find a wide selection of riding whips on our site. However, a riding whip should only be used byexperienced riders and as an assistant to your riding.

Saddle pads

We offer a wealth of different saddle pads. We have a varied selection of dressage pads, jumping pads and combined pads, as well as Icelandic saddle pads and pony saddle pads.

Leg protection for horses

Leg protection such as horse boots and bandages for horses protect the horse's legs from blows and abrasions and are important in the various disciplines. Bandages are mainly used in dressage, and horse boots are used in dressage and jumping, eventing and riding in nature/terrain.

Bell boots for horses are used to protect the horse's hooves. We have bell boots for paddocks, transportation, everyday riding and shows.

Rugs for horses
