Riding gloves are an essential piece of riding equipment for all riders. From the small beginner to the professional rider. Here at Unamari you'll find a wide selection for all needs and seasons, and in different materials such as technical PU material, Thinsulate and fleece. There are different colors, of course a large selection in classic colors such as black, brown and navy, as well as white riding gloves for competitions. Naturally, there are also sizes for children, women and men.
Why use riding gloves?
Riding gloves protect your hands both during riding and all other work with and around horses. They also contribute to a better grip on the reins when riding. When choosing riding gloves, it's important to consider both function and comfort. It doesn't matter if you need a practical glove for everyday use, an elegant riding glove for shows or competitions, a warm winter riding glove or something completely different.
How to choose the right riding gloves
When choosing riding gloves, it's important to consider both the season and your personal preferences. Winter riding gloves should be insulating and keep your hands warm without losing the feel of your riding. Summer riding gloves, on the other hand, should be lightweight and breathable. With breathable riding gloves, you'll ensure that your hands don't end up getting too sweaty during those hot summer rides.
For children, it's important to find riding gloves that fit the little hand as perfectly as possible to give them the best experience in the stable and in the saddle. It's also worth considering whether the gloves will be used for everyday use in the stable or for riding competitions.
How do I find the right size riding gloves?
As described, our range of riding gloves is very wide and when it comes to sizes, we use two different sizing guides for adults and one for children. Below we will try to make it as easy as possible for you to choose the right size gloves.
Adult glove sizes
Some of our gloves are listed as xs, s, m, l, xl, here the size difference between the sizes is slightly larger than on our Catago gloves which are in the common glove sizes as 6 - 6,5 -7 - 7,5 - 8 - 8,5 - 9 - 9,5 - 10 - 10,5 and 11.
6=XS
7=S
8=M
9=L
10=XL
11=XXL
Below is a guide to measuring your hands and finding the right size riding gloves.
How to find your riding glove size
-
Start by measuring the circumference of your hand in cm. Your hand should be flat and you should measure below your knuckles and above your thumb without including your thumb.
-
Convert your measurement in cm. to the correct glove size by dividing by 2.70. For example, if your hand measures 21 cm. / 2.70 = 7.77
-
Then you round down to the nearest size, in this case 7.5. This will be the guideline for the size of your new riding gloves.
Riding gloves for kids
Riding gloves for kids are designed with the needs of the smallest riders in mind. Children need gloves that fit their hands perfectly, as gloves that are too big or too small can reduce comfort and control while riding. It is especially important that children's gloves are flexible and provide good grip so that they can feel safe and secure in the saddle. At Equipage, we design and produce many different riding gloves for children so that all needs and seasons are covered, both in terms of riding gloves for training and riding competitions. We are constantly developing all our products and launching innovative products, not least for the smallest riders.
There are of course also winter riding gloves for the little riders, which are adapted to small hands and provide warmth and protection against the cold during winter rides.
Glove sizes for children
We do not have a definite measurement chart for children's riding gloves. We have chosen to divide them into the following three age groups 4-6 years, 6-8 years and 8-10 years.

Equipage Riding Gloves
Our brand Equipage is a popular brand in riding gloves. Equipage riding gloves offer a wide range of models to suit every rider, regardless of experience level. The brand is known for offering stylish and affordable riding gloves that still meet expectations for durability and comfort. Catago Riding Gloves
Catago is a popular brand among riders looking for high-quality riding gloves. Catago riding gloves are known for their durable materials and great fit. Whether you're looking for gloves for daily training or for competitions, Catago riding gloves offer both style and functionality
We naturally also offer riding gloves with Catago FIR-Tech. FIR-Tech riding gloves are lined with the well-known FIR-Tech material, which contains particles of ceramic clay. The ceramic clay reflects the body's own heat deep into the tissue, increasing blood circulation and keeping muscles, tendons and joints supple.

Good all-round riding gloves
In our collections, we have gloves where the design and material choice refers to either summer or winter. We'll talk more about those later. Of course, there are also great quality riding gloves designed for all-round use.
Here we would like to highlight the Catago Elite gloves, which have a perfect fit and provide a great grip on the reins. They are made from a technical PU material that has a high lycra content, so they are wonderfully forgiving. The gloves are breathable, strong and durable, with extra reinforcement in the areas most exposed to abrasion from the reins. Ideal for all disciplines with their functional and classic fit. These riding gloves come in black, brown, navy and white. The Catago Elite gloves also come in a version with FIR-Tech lining, which takes us into the winter category.
Winter Riding Gloves
When the temperature drops, it's important to have the right gear to ensure a comfortable ride. Winter riding gloves are designed to keep your hands warm while ensuring a good grip on the reins. Warm riding gloves are available in different thicknesses and materials to withstand even the harshest winter days.
For example, we recommend our Catago FIR-Tech Bay winter riding gloves, or our Catago FIR TECH Pro heated riding gloves that provide even infrared heat with nano-carbon elements for comfort in cold weather. They have adjustable heat levels, touchscreen compatibility and are made from durable, reinforced materials for longevity. All our FIR-Tech gloves are specially designed for riders, providing excellent grip and safety - ideal for stable work and riding.

Summer Riding Gloves
Unlike winter gloves, summer riding gloves are designed to be lightweight and breathable so your hands don't get too hot while riding in the warm months. Most summer gloves are made of thin, durable material combined with mech to ensure optimal comfort and control without compromising on grip. If you ride frequently in the summer, you may want to invest in a pair of riding gloves specifically designed for warmer weather to avoid sweaty hands while riding. In fact, you'll also find summer riding gloves with Catago FIR-Tech technology, as well as Catago Hybrid technology.
Warm riding gloves
Riding gloves are also quite popular for many riders during the winter months. They are designed so that the middle three fingers are together, but the thumb and little finger are separate so you can hold the reins correctly.
In our Catago range you will also find seasonal items such as soft warm knitted mittens in seasonal colors, ready to slip your cold hands into. Great whether you're standing along the barrier in a riding hall or when you're going about your everyday life away from the horses.
White riding gloves
For many, especially in dressage, riding competitions mean white riding gloves. Naturally, you'll find plenty of them for all seasons, in women's, men's and children's sizes.
Tip: We recommend that you check out DRF's regulations regarding clothing - including riding gloves for competitions, as the regulations are updated with changes annually.
