At Unamari we design, develop, produce and sell fleece rugs in many variants under our brands Horse Guard and Catago. We have many years of experience in developing rugs and guarantee a good fit for the entire size spectrum - from the small Shetland pony to cat III, II and I, as well as horses of all sizes. You'll find fleece rugs in our range in the size range from size 85-165 depending on the model.

What is a fleece rug used for?

A fleece rug is also sometimes called a fleece blanket. It is a very popular type of blanket. With good reason, because a fleece blanket has many different uses. It can be used as a stride rug when warming up your horse and dismounting.

It can be used before and after riding in the stable. You can place it over your horse's lower back to keep warm on cold days while you groom and saddle and unsaddle.

Heat regulating properties to wick away sweat

Fleece blankets have excellent heat regulating properties that help to wick sweat away from the horse's body. The material is designed to absorb moisture and wick it to the surface where it quickly evaporates. This ensures that the horse doesn't get cold or damp after training or washing. The breathable structure of the fleece supports even temperature regulation, keeping the horse dry and comfortable even in changing weather conditions.

Keep your horse warm with fleece rugs from Unamari

All our fleece rugs are sweat-wicking and breathable, and are therefore also ideal for keeping a sweaty horse warm while it dries by wicking moisture to the outside of the rug. This can be useful if the horse needs to be stabled after training, but also during transportation. Fleece rugs are also widely used as premium rugs or as part of a company's or riding club's profile equipment for the horses, as fleece rugs are suitable for embroidery.

Fleece rug colors and features

We offer fleece rugs in many colors, such as the classic colors black and navy, as well as the festive red, but also in different seasonal colors that are continuously innovated.

Some of our fleece rugs are with cross straps and others are without. That way you can choose what best suits your needs. Cross ties are good if you mainly want to use the rug in the stable and during transportation, as they help the rug to lie well and stay in place regardless of whether the horse shakes, lies down or similar. However, cross straps can be a bit of a hindrance if you primarily use the rug while riding. That's why we offer fleece rugs without cross ties, and on some of our models they can also be removed for a combined solution.

We have also incorporated features such as adjustable front closure, tail strap etc.

Fleece blanket with teddy lining

We offer fleece blankets with teddy lining, which are stronger than regular fleece blankets and provide extra warmth in cold conditions. We have many different blankets that can help in the cold temperatures from both Catago and HorseGuard.

Fleece blanket with neck

In both Catago and HorseGuard we offer a fleece blanket with neck. The integrated neck in a fleece blanket really comes into its own in cold weather, for example during transportation - either alone or under a warmer blanket without a neck.

It is also very suitable if you have washed your horse on a cold day and you do not have access to a solarium or heat lamps, which can warm and shorten drying time. A fleece blanket with neck covers the entire body of the horse as well as the neck and mane, which typically take a little longer to dry.

The neck can also provide that little extra protection for rosebuds, for example, if your horse or pony needs to be plaited well in advance, perhaps even the night before a competition. With a fleece rug with neck, your horse can lie down and sleep soundly without you having to worry about the rosebuds being covered in bedding and completely ruined on the morning of a competition.

Fleece rug with front flap

Some of our fleece rugs have a front flap that covers the buckles and front closure. This gives a great look and is ideal for logo embroidery, for example. These types of rugs are often used as honorary rugs at horse shows.

Pony fleece rugs

At Unamari, we don't forget the ponies, and naturally we also offer fleece rugs for the little ones. Both in cute designs, with special attention to the kids in terms of color and decoration, but also in our classic designs.

We hope you've enjoyed this review of our range of fleece blankets. If you're looking to explore more general rugs in general, we recommend you dive into our other range of rugs.
