Harnesses and pulling ropes are a team. The halter is placed on the horses' head when we handle them and is used together with a pulling rope when we tie them up, when we pull them and when we transport them.

What is a horse pulling rope?

A pulling rope, also called a halter shank in a slightly older term, is used together with the halter when we pull the horse. It is a rope with a carabiner at the end that is attached to the halter.

In addition to its practical function, the pulling rope also has a safety aspect, which is why we carry pulling ropes with both regular carabiners and panic hooks that can be quickly released in an emergency. The panic hook can be especially preferable for horses and ponies that are either new to being tied up or have lost confidence in it and may throw themselves back if startled.

Types of pull ropes for the stable

We stock the classic twisted Horse Guard pull rope, which has a budget-friendly price and is found in most stables. It is thick yet lightweight. It has a large gun hook for easy attachment and the functional length of 2 meters. They are available in a multitude of colors, so you can always find a pulling rope that matches your other riding gear and equestrian items.

You can also find pulling ropes in the more silky polycord composition. These also have a large gun hook for easy attachment. To prevent the rope from tangling or fraying, a rubber cap is fitted at the end of the rope. This rope is also two meters long.

If you're looking for an elegant pulling rope for competition use, the Catago gripping handle in premium quality round-stitched leather might be just what you're looking for. It also has a length of 2 meters and is available in brown and black to match the Catago leather halters.
