- Comfort during all types of riding
On this site you'll find riding jackets that are simply designed with the rider's needs in mind.
How to choose the right riding rain jacket
The right rain jacket for riding depends on your riding style and the weather you ride in.
Consider the following:
- Need extra warmth for cold days? Choose a well-lined rain jacket
- Do you ride for long periods of time? Choose a jacket with good breathability
- Do you want full freedom of movement? Look for slits and stretchy materials
The better you match the jacket to your needs, the more you get out of your rides.
Extra warmth on the ride
When the temperature drops and the wind picks up, extra warmth is essential without losing mobility.
Our rain jackets are designed with:
- Insulating lining for cold days
- Breathable materials to prevent overheating
- Windproof construction to keep you protected all the way
The perfect choice for the rider who enjoys riding all year round.
Waterproof rain jackets
A rain jacket is only truly reliable when water is effectively kept out. Waterproofness is measured in meter of water column pressure, which you can learn more about below.
What does water column pressure mean?
Technically speaking, water column pressure is the number of millimeters of water that one square centimeter of fabric can keep out before water penetrates.
For example, if a rain jacket is labeled with 1000 mm, it means that the fabric can withstand a pressure equivalent to a water column of 1000 mm, or one meter, before water starts seeping in.
How high a water column rating should my riding rain jacket have?
At the end of the day, choosing rainwear is about what kind of weather you're going out in - and what your needs are.
Note that the water column rating determines when a product is 'water repellent' and when it is considered 'waterproof'.
1500–2000 mm: |
Water resistant. Recommended for everyday use |
3000+ mm: |
Water resistant in light rain and snow |
5000 mm: |
Waterproof in moderate rain and snow |
5000+ mm: |
Waterproof in moderate to heavy rain and snow |
In our range you will find jackets with a water column density of up to 10.000 mm.
How is breathability measured in clothing?
Breathability is measured in MVP - short for Moisture Vapor Permeability. Breathability is measured by how many grams of moisture can be wicked away per square meter in 24 hours.
A breathability figure of 3000 MVP means that 3000 grams of moisture can evaporate through the jacket per square meter in 24 hours.
The higher the figure, the better the jacket can "breathe" - and the more comfortable you will feel while riding.
How breathable should my riding rain jacket be?
For a rain jacket for riding where you move moderately and are more sedentary at times, 3000 MVP is enough to keep you dry inside without overheating.
