How should horse boots fit on a horse?

Horse boots should first and foremost fit the horse's legs both in height and width:

What size should I choose for my pony or horse?

Tendon Boots

Tendon Boots are protective boots that are used for horses when they go to the paddock. They are designed to protect the horse's legs from blows, kicks or injuries that can occur when playing or moving freely in the herd. Horse boots typically sit on the front or hind legs and provide support without restricting freedom of movement.

They are especially used for horses that tend to sustain cuts, scrapes or minor injuries in the paddock. Folding horse boots can also be a good solution for horses with sensitive skin or previous injuries where extra protection is needed.

Stable horse boots are not designed for the horse to move around a lot with them on, but in recent years, stable boots have also become very popular for use during transportation, where the horse is also at rest.

They do not contain the FIR-Tech function, but instead come with a smart cooling bag. You cool the inserts by storing them in the freezer. If you need to take them with you, put them in the cooler bag to keep them cool for longer.

Cleaning horse boots

Clean your horse boots regularly. Not only because it's nice to have clean gear, but most importantly because dirty horse boots can be uncomfortable for the horse and can cause cuts and sores on the horse's legs. Pay special attention to whether the horse boots have traces of dirt, grime and sweat on the inside. Depending on the type of horse boots, you can clean them by washing them by hand and scrubbing with water and a mild soap. Some types can also be washed in a washing machine. If so, we recommend using a wash bag.

By washing and maintaining your horse blankets, you also reduce the likelihood of your horse getting infections if it should get a few scratches on its legs. That's why it's always a good idea, whether you're a dressage rider or an experienced show jumper.
